What I am looking forward to
Google Cloud Next 2026 is coming up at the end of April. Three days of keynotes, sessions, and hands-on labs at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
Sessions on my list
AI infrastructure
Google has been pushing hard on TPU availability and Vertex AI improvements. Interested to see what the next generation of managed ML infrastructure looks like and whether the pricing model has shifted.
Kubernetes and GKE
GKE continues to be the strongest managed Kubernetes offering. The sessions on multi-cluster management and Autopilot improvements are relevant to how we deploy Foltrac across regions.
Security and identity
Google's BeyondCorp model was one of the early zero-trust frameworks. Expecting sessions on Workload Identity Federation and IAM improvements that could inform how W0rktree handles cross-tenant authentication.
Why I am going
Cloud infrastructure is foundational to how we think about the W0rktree server architecture. The server needs to run reliably across cloud providers, handle multi-tenant isolation at the infrastructure level, and scale storage for large codebases. These sessions directly inform those design decisions.
Also a good opportunity to connect with teams building developer tools on GCP and get feedback on W0rktree's sync protocol from people who think about distributed systems daily.
